Ramadan Preparations and the Meaning of Ramadan
This year's preparations for Ramadan 2022 are my first on Shef.com. Shef.com has allowed me to explore my culinary talent and business savvy with what recipes sell. With an MBA and culinary skills in the kitchen, I have worked at 4 restaurants in my lifetime. I have finally been able to sell my own recipes with Shef that has allowed me to let my contained talent flow.
PREPARATIONS
This Ramadan I will be offering
-dry fruit dates
-fresh fruit platters
-dry fruit and nuts platter
-mouth watering korma and curry dishes with rice or pita also known as naan
-salad
-yogurt raita
-chutney yogurt raita
-desserts such as mithai (baklava) of rasgulla, gulab jamun, chum chum, and barfi in assorted box
-chaats such as fruit chaat and chana chaat
-raita snack platter of yogurt boondi raita, yogurt potato and salad raita, and yogurt cucumber and tomato raita (very refreshing for iftar with dates before prayers and full dinner)
-whole rotisserie tandoori chicken of 2-2.5 pounds with rice
-beef nihari
-chicken platters of wings and assorted kabobs
-beef kabobs platter

Please order from my menu and know that a portion of your sales go to those in need for food donations during the entire Holy Month of Ramadan as they eat of what is provided to them to complete their fasts all over the world. Rhia's Halal Mediterranean donates food to mosques in the USA and money for meals to the poor populations in Europe, Pakistan located in South Asia, and also Africa as they eat of what bounty God (Allah- Creator of the Universe) provides to them.
RAMADAN IS SPECIAL TO ME EACH YEAR
This Ramadan
-is special as a spiritual journey in connection with God (Allah- Creator of the Universe)
-is a first ever for me with Shef.com
-and is the second Ramadan without my mother for whom I pray she rest eternally in the seven heavens in the highest level she can attain as she passed away 2 years ago just 8 months after sending me to my husband's home when I got married
THE MEANING OF RAMADAN
This Ramadan
-continues to be a spiritual journey every year in experiencing the suffering the poor and needy go through with hunger by fasting for no nutrition from foods or drinks from sunrise to sunset for 29/30 days until the sighting of the moon
-becomes a time of the year where it is more important to pray on time 5x daily and add additional prayers
-is all about the Spiritual Creator's Oneness
-is a time when the Holy Quran is completed reading once with 30 parts and 114 chapters which is considered Divine Guidance sent down by Angel Gabriel
-is a time of the year where it is a must for those who can afford it to donate money for meals or food to the poor, especially the poor who are fasting with less foods to eat to break their fast. It is a must to donate one meal for each day of fasting missed at the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
-2 and 1/2 months later is the time of the year when annual or once in a lifetime pilgrimage to the House of Abraham is made, considered the first Mosque or Place of Worship to God in Mecca, Saudi Arabia considered one of the holiest sites in the world such as Madinah, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem.
-is compulsory upon practicing Muslims to participate in prayer and meditation, fasting, and giving of Alms for Zakat or Sadqa to those in need
