Winter Holiday Season

The winter holiday season has always been special for our family. It is a time we spend together when schools and work are closed. There are times when the grocery stores close early. The last-minute food shopping has to be finished for recipes to finish cooking holiday dishes that are traditional cultural dishes and popular holiday favorites.

A traditional Punjabi meal is not complete without rice platters of biryani or pulou filled with chicken or meat. Roasted chicken or turkey, mashed potatoes, bean casserole, desserts, salad, bread rolls or baguette bread that is smothered with garlic butter are all popular main and side dishes.

The table is filled with food as loved ones gather around the table and are often snacking on seconds and third helpings through the night after dinner while family moves to watch TV after the conversations wear down.

I have always valued these moments and look forward to the winter holidays every year. Being raised with Thanksgiving and Christmas, it has become special for me to include the tradition for my family. I plan the meals and organize my kitchen so well that I do not want anyone moving my ingredients around. They are grateful later for the delicious taste of my flavorful menu.

I pray you are blessed to have time for food with your family. Keep Rhia's Halal Mediterranean in mind this holiday season to order from
