Ramadan begins February 18!

If you are like me, you are SUPER EXCITED about Ramadan as it begins February 18, 2026 this month for 2026 and lasts ALL MONTH LONG!

The Holy Month is something to be excited about as it is a month filled with blessings for our spiritual life to purify our spirits and become stronger in our faith (deen) that will begin after this worldly life (dunya) ends.

It is a time of the year that is a very favorite time of mine. I love to cook so Ramadan is filled with meals to start the fasting (referred to as suhoor Arabic, sehri Urdu-Hindi) and break the fasts (referred to as iftar or iftari). Nutritious meals are an important part of the holiday to have the energy to sustain the fasting every day from sunrise to sunset filled with 5 times daily prayer, and often additional late-night prayers. Most of us in the West are leading busy lives with academics and our professions while we fast, and we need our energy as calories are burned while fasting and we do it to purify our spirits in a deep connection with Allah, God- Creator of the Universe. We believe He the Almighty is the only Creator and that He is Omnipotent, All-Seeing and All-Knowing since the beginning of time and All-Powerful along with being the Most-High in the Seven Heavens of Jannah also referred to as Jannat-al-Firdaus in the Holy Quran that is the Holy book of Islam that all Muslims live according to for its teachings for all time. As this holiday is so important, it is also important to nourish our body along with nourishing our spirits.

Follow along on this blog as I share tips for fasting, my delivery meals, and soon-to-come recipes as I work on publishing my first cookbook between 2025-2026.

More to come!

This year will be the first year I consider participating in SUHOOR FEST that lasts all night until dawn and is a festival in Dallas to eat all night until the next day's fasting begins. It is very popular and after 4 years with this cooking business, I am finally ready to take this step! Rhia's Halal Mediterranean is planning to participate in SUHOOR FEST and details will be shared so you can come out and buy some delicious Halal food.

An international Spanish pastry, postres.
